Mission
At Istari Arts, we work to inspire the public with cutting edge installations and performance art. Our mission is to provoke surprise, reflection, and joy in those who view our pieces, by showing them new works that push the boundaries of the possible.
Founded in 2024, we are new as an organization, but have a long informal history, and we are excited to expand our reach to new audiences.
Our Work
Some of our past work is described below:
The Canopy
A massive suspended LED installation in the tradition of Chris Schardt and Leo Villareal, The Canopy displays ever-shifting patterns that can react to the audience, or synchronise with music.
The Shrine of the Singing Sun
A combination sun dial / musical instrument, the Shrine of the Singing Sun invited viewers to reflect on the connections between time and music, with 12 strings reflecting both the 12 hours of the clock and the 12 notes of an octave.
Solar Ritual
A performance art piece set to live taiko drumming, the Solar Ritual was performed at dawn to welcome the coming of the sun.
